I have a database folder running with realtime data . If I feed some more symbols realtime data into the same database from another source will it cause Ami to stagger and crash ?

Depends on how you are feeding data.

If you are using any method that does periodic ascii import or external api access to add data to the database, then mostly it is not going to crash. I would not recommend using any additional rt sources if even one of them uses a data feeder plugin.

You can try and see, but better to get a data provider with sufficient number of simultaneous symbols.

I used the following code inside another AFL to display the name of the Symbol in the chart . But after reinstalled Amibroker the AFL is working fine , except for this code . Name is not getting displayed on the center of the chart . I copied the code and put it as a separate AFL and tried applying it on another sheet with just price . Still it is not working . My Ami version is 5.6 . datafeed Truedata

Default Help Required - Multiple Time Frame Scan and Charts

Dear Seniors,

Greetings to you all

I am not a programmer but try to do some cut and paste of the programming codes by reviewing AFL's created by seniors who are experts in programming and who have created AFL's in the past....

I am pasting below the codes that i have written but the same needs some fine tuning as it is not giving the desired results...

The 2 AFL's are supposed to do the following:

A. Scan for the condition
B. Plot the result based on the condition mentioned.

The condition is as follows:

1. Uptrend - Monthly RSI =>60 and Weekly RSI =>60
2. Downtrend - Monthly RSI =<40 and Weekly RSI =<40
3. Neutral - If condition 1 and 2 are not present simultaneously then it is a neutral condition.

A. Scan for the condition - I should be able to scan for the above conditions on the Daily tf charts and it should shortlist long or short based on the conditions fulfilled at 1 and 2 above...Neutral should be excluded in the scan list...

B. Plot the result based on the condition mentioned - If uptrend then it should plot green candles on the daily tf charts, If downtrend then it should plot red candles on the daily tf charts and If Neutral then it should plot black or white candles on the daily tf charts....

A. Scan - Code written:

_SECTION_BEGIN("Exploration RSI Scan For MTF Trend");
SetChartBkColor(16) ;
SetChartOptions(0,0,chartGrid30|chartGrid70);

TimeFrameSet( inWeekly );
RSIWkly= RSI(14);
TimeFrameRestore();

TimeFrameSet( inMonthly );
RSIMthly= RSI(14);
TimeFrameRestore();

_SECTION_END();

RSIDly=RSI(14);

Buy = (RSIMthly>=60) AND (RSIWkly>=60) ;
Sell = (RSIMthly<=40) AND (RSIWkly<=40) ;

Filter=Buy OR Sell;

shape = Buy * shapeUpArrow + Sell * shapeDownArrow;
PlotShapes( shape, IIf( Buy, colorDarkGreen, colorRed ), 0, IIf( Buy, Low,High ) );

if(Status("action") == actionIndicator)
{
//PlotOHLC(O, H, L, C, "", colorGrey40, styleCandle);
//Plot(MA20, "MA(Close, 20)", colorDarkGreen, styleLine);
//Plot(MA50, "MA(Close, 50)", colorRed, styleLine);
PlotShapes(IIf(Buy, shapeSquare, shapeNone),colorGreen, 0, L, Offset=-20);
PlotShapes(IIf(Buy, shapeSquare, shapeNone),colorLime, 0,L, Offset=-10);
PlotShapes(IIf(Buy, shapeUpArrow, shapeNone),colorWhite, 0,L, Offset=-15);
PlotShapes(IIf(Sell, shapeSquare, shapeNone),colorRed, 0, H, Offset=20);
PlotShapes(IIf(Sell, shapeSquare, shapeNone),colorOrange, 0,H, Offset=10);
PlotShapes(IIf(Sell, shapeDownArrow, shapeNone),colorWhite, 0,H, Offset=-15);

}

//Report Generated At EOD Based On Triggers Received

SetOption("NoDefaultColumns", True);
AddTextColumn(Name(), "Symbol", 77, colorDefault, colorDefault, 120);
AddColumn(IIf(Buy, 66, 83), "Signal", formatChar, colorYellow, IIf(Buy, colorGreen, colorRed));
AddColumn(DateTime(), "Trigger Date", formatDateTime);
AddColumn(C, "Close", 6.2);
AddColumn(RSIDly, "DlyRsi", 6.2);
AddColumn(RSIWkly, "WklyRsi", 6.2);
AddColumn(RSIMthly, "MthlyRsi", 6.2);

B. Plot the result on the daily tf chart based on the condition mentioned

_SECTION_BEGIN("Colored Bar/Candle Chart");
SetChartBkGradientFill( ParamColor("BgTop", ColorRGB( 172,172,172 )),
ParamColor("BgBottom", ColorRGB( 172,172,172 )),ParamColor("titleblock",ColorRGB( 172,172,172 )));
SetChartOptions(0,chartShowDates|chartShowArrows|c hartLogarithmic|chartWrapTitle);

_SECTION_BEGIN("");

TimeFrameSet( inMonthly );
RSIMthly= RSI(14);
TimeFrameRestore();

TimeFrameSet( inWeekly );
RSIWkly= RSI(14);
TimeFrameRestore();

_SECTION_END();

_SECTION_BEGIN("");

//Buy = (RSIMthly>=60) AND (RSIWkly>=60);
//Sell = (RSIMthly<=40) AND (RSIWkly<=40);

uptrend = (RSIMthly>60) AND (RSIWkly>60);
downtrend = (RSIMthly<40) AND (RSIWkly<40);

barcolor = IIf(uptrend, colorgreen, IIf(downtrend, colorRed, colorWhite));

_SECTION_END();

Title = Name() + "\\c" + barcolor + " - Color Bar Chart : " + WriteIf(uptrend, "Uptrend Bar", WriteIf(downtrend, "Downtrend Bar", "Neutral Bar"));

//WriteIf(upbar, "Up Bar",
//WriteIf(downbar, "Down Bar", "Neutral Bar"))));

Plot(Close, Title, barcolor, styleThick + styleBar);

_SECTION_END();

Will Truly appreciate help in rectifying the above AFL codes to make it work properly...

Thanks in advance
Best Regards
Floyd

Default volume bars/range bars

iam using volume bars in amibroker-

5 different sizes for 5 different scrips-

is it possible to save those volume bars settings for those scrips instead of selecting manually everytime-

thanks-

As far as I am aware, you cant save any of the chart settings on a per scrip basis.

What you can try doing is make a chart with 5 sheets, with each sheet being setup for a different stock. Then when you change to a new stock, you manually select the appropriate sheet. This is typically much faster than changing the chart settings and also does not clutter up your system with multiple charts.
