Some body will be your mentor only if you have done some self study....Rather then asking for one, just increase your knowledge around senior members here....you will learn alot...in the mean while you may find one...but rather then searching, start self studying. Getting mentor is not a task to do. Its a feeling which you may share from whom you learn, or get guidance...

It's really sad to see some members pile up on the original poster. What was wrong in the posters question seeking mentor?... why shower him with "ill-prepared" .. "cruel experiment" stuff? .... he merely asked for mentors. He did not ask "can someone teach me how to make million in a month?"
Its a legitimate request and a standard practice/business in the west. I'm a average trader and if i could find a legitimate mentor, it *can* boost my net results. Even for a beginner, its perfectly OK to seek a mentor. I nearly spent 3 years circling around this maze of trading, learning the basics, seeking the holy grail, seeking that golden indicator, tweaking the guru's system, etc.. and even today i dont know where i stand. At least the original poster has brains enough to stand-up and seek a mentor thereby acknowledging "Well, i dont know much about trading. Let me see if i can find anyone who can teach me the ropes". Well done 8181. I really dont know any mentor programs in India. BSE does offer some TA programs .... but than they dont offer you something which you cant anyway learn off for free from the internet. What i can recommend for your consideration is few sites like A) puretick.com B)tradethemarkets.com This sites have live chat rooms where you see for live how this people trade. Its sort of pseudo mentors for you. Please note: I'm not associated with any of this portals and dont recommend them for your immediate subscription. You need to do your own checks on this or any other mentorship programs. |

Those guys sell you subscriptions for upwards of 300 USD a month, call trades after the fact, sell you indicators copied from forums, have negative results for their own fund.

A few keyword searches on Google would have produced many sites/tipsters/mentors...etc etc, and I am sure the original thread starter is smart enough for that, but what he really wanted IMO is a guide sort of at the personal level.
![]() But here the traders post their key analysis etc for the benefit of all and that too free of cost, and thats what makes thing great. and I am sure every individual is benefited by that.

Says who JJ ? Edit: For good or bad, Carter's book is one of my fav. With this in background, i clearly stated that i DONT recommend the user to subscribe day one. I have recommended users to do do due diligence. Regarding calling calls after the facts --- its incorrect. Im 100% sure of both Carter and PureTicks having rooms where they do livetrading. Again .. users need to do their own homework and see if they can find any good mentors in India .. if not than try out any of this rooms where they trade live (i guess puretick does offer a trial period.. provided you know your basics) Last edited by stumper; 08-03-2010 at 09:07 PM. |

To each his own. Had i sufficiently deep pocket, i would have opted for a mentor myself. Ofcourse im not advocating mentorship for everyone .. neither do i claim it as a golden tool. Depending on what i gain from a mentor, no harm in paying if its worth it. |

NoviceTrader: Whats your point? .. the original post was decently clear on what he wanted.... "Mentor who can guide him on TA and Trading". Each trader has his/her individual style/mental make-up, wont you agree? .... The original poster may not have the temparament for the so-called learning through forums?.. Why judge him based on popular perception? All im trying to say is that there was nothing wrong in the original posters question. |
