No Sir ,
They have told me that they had some other legal issues which they did not
want to encounter. If pricing was the problem they could have reworked and
informed the clients and since data quality is good no one will complain.
Today I took the demo of GFDL and watching for a few minutes.Since it is Dotex data quality seems to be good. I donot know anything about technicals I write what I feel .It is similar to that of Viratech and TDI.
Hope GFDL would rework the pricing when they include equities.
Those who took demo , please share your experience.
Best of Luck GFDL !

May be yes.
It is really a mystery to me as to what happened to them all of a sudden They were doing quite well in the beginning by attracting a lot of new customers and their real time data quality was also very good. One of the best part about their service was that they were supporting a lot of trading platform right at the beginning. But as they used the method of esignal imulator, therefor that might have created some legal issue with esignal, which could have been one of the reason for stopping the service.

But all this is speculation from my end, I do not have any knowledge about the Real reason which made TDI to stop that service abruptly. I was quite disappointed to know this news at that time.

If someone knows the real reason for the same, then please let us know "not in this thread". Better to reply in this thread

Yes anshuman, that seems to be the most probable reason to me. Esignal might have threatened them to stop the emulator, else face the legal hassles.

In my opinion the emulator idea was brilliant, because it allowed them to become "Compatible" with most of the trading platforms in one go. But if this is not allowed legally, then nothing could be done about it.

As bestnifty has stated about legal issues, this seems to be that legal issue.

Regards

PS: Let us not make any further comments about TDI in this thread, GFDL might not like it.
If he finds it objectionable, then JJ Sir please move our posts to the respective thread.

Anybody who takes a trial should have a backup of their database before they install the system..Due to the bundling of three things it seems that certain of preferences get overwritten and the DLL of their proprietary AFL still remains within AMI folder..

GDFL should ideally mention this in regard to keep backup of the databases and hence preferences.

Second, this bundling should be left to the user choice and not forceful.I may not want their code into my system , as for me, my codes are more preferred..

This is a basic requirement before embarking..

Hello,

* We have mentioned on each download page about overriding under Important Notes (it is the only thing in red colour to catch user's attention).
* Even the installer warns about this before moving ahead with installation.

Workaround :
However, for people with existing AmiBroker setup and who wish to avoid ‘overriding’, here is the workaround.

1. Install another copy of AmiBroker at other location first by running AmiBroker Installer.
2. Once done, run nimbledataPro Installer.
3. When it asks to choose AmiBroker folder, choose the new AmiBroker installation folder instead of your original one.

This will create an altogether new directory for AmiBroker + nimbledataPro – keeping your existing AmiBroker intact. However if you are running both copies of AmiBroker simultaneously, care has to be taken not to modify ‘Preferences’ and other state variables which share common space in Registry.

If things given are 'in excess' for some users, they can always ignore / remove them. All-in-oneTradePro AFL is completely optional - if you do not want it, here are a few ways to remove it.
* Close the Chart which contains it.
* You can also choose one of the pre-defined Layouts which does not contain it (4 out of 10 do not contain All-in-oneTradePro).
* Delete AllInOneTS.dll from AmiBroker\plugins directory. However please note that if you choose to delete the dll, you may not be able to run the Scan and Explore based on Ver_100_All-In-OneTradeProTS.afl

So far, we have not received any comments from users to keep All-in-oneTradePro as an optional component OR that do not want to utilize its features. Frankly, we have plans to include many Explorations and Scans through it which MOST of AmiBroker users do not know how to do because they do not know how to write programs using AFL (AmiBroker Formula Language used to write code in AmiBroker). In future if we receive more of such responses, we can give a choice to user for its selection during installation.

Based on the performance of the Demo Period I subscribed for one month. Till now Data is ok and support team looks like a real support. I needed their help 2-3 times and some one was helping within minutes. One problem which I have faced is that you can access data after plug in only. So due to any reason if the server is closed then you dont have access to any data. I have to find out whether the data can be stored in some other data base which can be used for study purpose during off market hours. Yesterday my account was activated and I logged in added some symbols and study and every thing was ok. Today morning when I tried to logg in with same password it says that password is invalid and after 4 or 5 attempts it was blocked. I assume that log in verification system was not on since I tried to log in early morning.
This may be a big problem for Traders who have to devote lot of time to study.
My point is that once we have paid for the data it becomes our property and we must have unrestricted access to this data for our study. RT data should be supplied after real plug in but old data should be made available even without logging to the system.
Let us hope they may come up with some solution.

I have also subscribed to GFDL, but i am not facing any log-in issues. Data is accessible at any time. This could be a wrong password/id block issue. Pls. see their warning in the manual --- "Do not try for more than 3 attempts - your user id will be blocked by our servers and it will take more than normal time to bring its status back to normal"

My concerns are;

1. GFDL doesnt store data on our computer, each time we log-in its downloaded from their server.
2. IEOD/EOD data is not sufficient for EOD analysis. They are just providing few days IEOD. Since the data is always getting downloaded from their server, IEOD data will always remain just for few days.
3. The amibroker database is in 1minute format, so the lowest timeframe u can see is one minute. but the data is updated tick-by-tick.

+ve
1. Datafeed is stable/ realtime and updated tick-by-tick.
2. Easy to add new symbols, just type in amibroker and its added to the rt-dashboard.
3. Open interest is available.
4. No disconnection or data-not-updating issue observed so far.

Overall, quality of the GFDL Datafeed is good & acceptable.

It is true that they have printed this warning and I read it also. After first attempt I simply copied the password from mail and pasted it still it was telling that password is incorrect. My question is-
in the first 2 attempts if it fails what is the next step. If you attempt 3rd time it will be blocked and support is not available round the clock. They should mention that after 2nd failure contact the support and dont attempt the 3rd attempt. And one has to find out what will be the corrective action. This warning is like my Brokers warning. Whenever his server is not working he gives the message that your internet is down. In the last 4 years he never agreed that there was some problem at his end.
They must find out some way to give subscriber right to use the data as per his convenience once he has purchased it.
These are teething troubles and they may come up with solutions as and when faced.
There is no doubt that so far quality of data is good and improvements can be made as and when needed.
