Update:-

Took PC to nearest Lenovo Service center.
They confirmed it can support dual monitor.
Changed BIOS setting to multidisplay.
Now looking for 24x1 DVI-D to VGA cable or adapter again.

No1 you were right it is on-board graphic card with 2 ports.

IMO when you have a branded system, do not take it to the local dealers. Stick to the service centers of the brand.

99% of local assembled pc sellers have no clue about what they are doing. Most cant even install OS with all the drivers on laptops and computers. Best to stay away from these local computer dealers unless you know them to be good & reliable.

Bought another DVi-D to VGA cable y/day. After connecting this at least it has stooped saying"No Signal pls check ur connection" But I am still at dead end.

By adding another VGA card in PC can i solve this issue?
Will it work as extended monitor?

Pls advice possible solutions....

Thanks

Are you connecting the 2ndory montior with a PC or Laptop ?

In any case, it should work with any VGA cable.

I might sound silly for pointing this out but I hope you are doing Fn+F7 (look for rectang sign on function key) after connecting the VGA cable. This will give you option to use the 2nd monitor as "Duplicate", "Extended", "Projector only"... you have to select Extended.

investigate

(1) Recently, I happened to try test two monitors side by side.
I connected the first monitor on DVI(D) port and the second one on the VGA port.
Both monitors started and everything seemed fine- background and windows in the task ba were seen in both the monitors.

But when I clicked the windows to open- windows would open and minimized on the DVI monitor only and the VGA monitor just showed desktop and minimized windows.
When I shoved the mouse towards the VGA screen, mouse pointer appeared on it but whatever I did-result appeared on DVI monitor only.

(2) There are 2 VGA connectors but the one not connected to the graphics card is the disabled one.

This seems to be as per what we expect.

This is a bit strange. Can you upload a video?

Can you try to drag a window from one monitor to the other? Sometimes, one monitor is considered primary by the OS and all new app windows will open on that.

This is not relavant to this problem.

I know that. Just mentioned because some boarder had mentioned the term "dummy".
What I wanted to say- that the port may be disabled and not dummy.

sent the video check your mail.

Solution found:

Task was : comparing both monitors side by side

Solution: connected both monitors to the graphics card ports- DVI & VGA

On desktop, right click->personalize->display->change display setting->duplicate these displays.

And the job is done.

Hmm... The solution was posted long ago..

just connecting the secondary monitor won't do the job.. you have to select the function as well. In case can do Fn+F7 (could be diff key in diff brand) which will show this.

or do this..

Both will do the job..

The options Duplicate = Both the monitor will act as main system and duplicate the screen

Extended = You can have mulitiple windows open and drag to the secondary monitor.. like in trading we can extend a chart on the secondary monitor..

You can also assing which monitor you want to use as Primary vs Secondary... this option is available in the 2nd image I posted (go to desktop - screen Resolution and change the number 1/2 ..if hv WIN7)

Fn key is generally not present on the external keyboards - though there are something like SmartBoard that have the same- also some people do something to use the scroll lock key as the function key but I don't know that knack.

Win 8/8.1 users can do it more easily and effectively:

move the mouse pointer to the upper right corner of the screen and let the charms bar open. choose the option devices->project.

4 options shall be available-

(1) pc screen only: only main display shall be shown while secondary one shall stay blank
useful especially when something you want to hide from the audiences viewing your presentation on the OHP.
(2) duplicate: both screen shall show the same content
(3) extend: both monitors shall show different windows
(4) second screen only: primary shall be blank while second one shall show the content.
useful when playing a movie from a laptop with a view to save its battery.
