Default Issue With Dell

I had bought Dell Studio-15 (15”) some 6 months back. I had initial trouble with LED screen which was replaced. Then occurred an alignment problem? (The Laptop was not able to open and close properly) Which they tried to fix it twice but it refused to set. Finally Dell asked back the system for replacement.

Now Dell says that they don’t have same model and wants to deliver a smaller one 14”. Which is not acceptable to me?

What should be done?

Drop a detailed mail with all case history to Michael Dell and few other top shots in USA & Asia Pacific HO. You will get a proper solution. Indian authorities work when they knw case has been properly escalated. You can find the email ids on their website. You just need to keep sending mails till u dnt get response.

Then they have to replace with an equivalent or higher model.
In offered laptop there can not be any component which is lower than the original one (under dispute). Screen size/ HD capacity/ HD speed/ total memory/ graphics/ bettery cells etc ..all hav to be same or better.

The important thing is how you present your case and how well you negotiate!

Agreed, should be at par at least. But I have always found most companies backing out on warranty services. Even NOKIA. I had a defective phone and had to move heaven and earth to get it replaced under warranty.

Lekin choda nahi salon ko...

Aap bhi chodo mat.

Actually i am also facing a prob with dell..I got one XPS in USA with extended warranty till 2012..Then back in india i got transferred the warranty .Now the key board is not functioning and upon enquiry no proper response is given .
They ask me to redo the warranty with AMC here [Rs.8000] which i believe is unfair..Any suggestions on this front is highly appreciated.
thanks

AT times, taking out warrany from best of the MNC's in india is tough..maybe the mindset. One has to put lotsa efforts but if the case is genuine, they cant stop! Most of the times i have seen..things work out only when their HO is being involved.

I 'll tell u what I had to do for my NOKIA instrument worth about 40K.

After doing DD and fulfilling all the warranty clauses emails to ho's etc I still found their service centre dithering over the issue . That left me with no choice but to approach our local political outfit SHAKHA in MUMBAI without naming it. All it took was a Jai Maharashtra , Kasa Kai to solve the issue. That was the best piece of negotiation I have ever seen
