Default Trend Manager in Amibroker

I am starting this thread with due apologies to Amarnath. In spite of his advice not to make clones of the the Metatrader "Trend Manager' System , I have proceeded to translate the same to Amibroker. The main intentions is that the Metatrader is not widely used by stock traders and the majority Amibroker users should not left out in the cold.

In this thread I will also be expressing my frank opinion about the system. This in no way should be construed as an effort to degrade or demean others effort to teach this system.

I will leave the rest for the members to decide...

Respected karthik,

You are requested to explain what is the difference between nma 1.1 and trend manager. I think both are trend following systems and please explain how trend manager is better than NMA 1.1 before providing afl.

A few more steps before I post the afl. This is to avoid confusion as it happened in the case of KBrain afl. Many did not know how to plot the stopline and signals from the parameter window. I had a flood of mails asking clarifications..

The afl works on version 5.20 and above... Of course I will also provide an afl for lower versions...but the chart will not look as nice as the one on 5.20..

The afl will have the option to plot candles or bars selectable from the parameter window...

Vijay,

NMA and Trend manager are conceptually different though both are based on a trailing stop methods and trend following..

NMA works with a trailing stop of a fixed % whereas Trend manager works by comparing the high and low values seven days ago...

And..so far i have not said that Trend Manager is better than NMA..

Trend manager is a system available in Metatrader. This is being explained nicely in another thread. The effort here is to make the same available for Amibroker users so that they can also follow the concepts explained in that thread..
