my question is where is the time stamp in picture?

When broker provided "snap to excel" feature is used then it provides all relevant info about ticks. In that "Last traded Time" will be used as TimeStamp of "Feed".

thks devdas bro! tht i knw and used it! lets add that column too. but for every change in timestamp (in secs), need not necessary that cell E will also change. in tht case will the graph take "last traded time" or timestamp pertaining to every chnge in cell E!

now how to do it? i mean - if i take JJ's example then how to do the thing in BOLD -

now lets take a simple example:
  • cell A is open price (cell A cud also be RT changing depending on any other example)
  • cell B is RT price
  • cell C is A - B

so cell C is getting updated RT every second. though RT change is every second, there is no time stamp getting generated in any corresponding cells!

i agree tht for every time stamp the value of cell C wud be different. but i didnt get this where time stamps are getting generated?

am i sounding like an idiot or not able to put across my query

Either timestamps are supplied by your feed or you have to generate it yourself (or a proxy timestamp like 1,2 etc), without it, you can't plot the data.

Well, i dont know VB much, if it would have been C# then....

but i can give u skeleton of logic that i think can do ,

Step 1 : Store the latest time stamp in variable previous time stamp ( aka PTS ).

Copy your info in say Row 3(Always) from Row 2. ( Row 1 would be header and Row 2 will be RT).

Step 2 : Check if new time stamp is available ( either by event driven or manually at 1 sec interval ).

say it is NTS ( New Time Stamp )
If NTS > PTS then its really new ticks.

Step 3: Insert a new Row under Row 2 ( i guess VB can do this easily ), copy contenet of Row 2 in Row 3. ( old Row 3 would have been already shifted to Row 4.)

Once you get it running, please share the relavant code. I am sure many people are looking at something along this line.

The quotes are to be inserted in the next cells of the same columns instead of refreshing in the same cell .
I tried to find that . Unfortunately I lost the link and could not find it . sorry Bro ! Best of luck .
