Default Surge in volume! Fresh buying or big guys selling?

Dear Fellow Traders,

How do we know if the surge is volume is due to the fresh buying or smart money selling their to the herd? How the positioning of a stock plays a role i.e. vol surge happening near the bottom or peak or in the middle?

The idea is to increase the probability of spotting true volume breakout stocks. Can someone please shed some lights?

Thank you Sunshine. Let me watch these videos and come back in case I have any further questions.

BTW, Do you follow any standard best practices to scan potential volume breakout scrips in Amibroker? I am looking for volume breakout scanner.

This question is not as easy to answer as it seems at first.

I would suggest studying Wyckoff and VSA if you want to make use of volume in your trading. There are many small subtle points involved in the use of volume for trading.
