The foundation of a beautiful life is positive thoughts.
Expression: The one who is constantly thinking positive is able to keep his words positive too. His actions would surely be positive also and would be those that bring benefit to the self and others. So to have positive thoughts means to make a beautiful contribution in making one's own life worthwhile. Experience: When I continue to have positive thoughts, I create a foundation for a beautiful life. I am able to enjoy the beauty of whatever situations come up in my life. I am able to strengthen this foundation further because each positive thought multiplies as time passes by. So I am able to create a fertile ground for getting the best fruit from life.

To be a creator means to use all treasures for a positive contribution.
Expression: Even in the most negative situations, the one who has the thought of creation, works towards bettering the situation. Every thought, word and action is towards creation and not towards worsening the situation. Such a person is not concerned about who spoilt the situation or how it got spoilt. To the extent possible, he works towards bettering the situation. Experience: When I am working towards creation, I am able to make the best use of my resources and treasures. I then experience constant progress. I also experience contentment of having made a contribution, however little it may be. I have no questions, but only answers under all circumstances.

Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God. Quiet moments, worship God. Painful moments, trust God. Every moment, thank God.

Why do we Hindus tie red thread – Mauli or Kalava – at the beginning of a Religious Ceremony?
A red thread known as Mauli or Kalava or Charadu is tied on wrist by Hindus before the beginning of a religious ceremony. The thread is tied on the right hand by males and on the left hand by females. The thread is tied to invoke the blessings of the Hindu deities especially of the particular deity to whom the puja is dedicated. Legend has it that Lord Vishnu during his incarnation of Vamana tied a red thread on the hands of King Bali to grant him immortality and to rule the netherworld. There is also a popular belief that the sanctified red thread with blessing of the deity protects a person from diseases, enemies and other dangers.

This a smart one...worth forwarding endlessly....
An ingenious example of speech and politics occurred recently in the United Nations Assembly that made the world community smile. A representative from India began: 'Before beginning my speech I want to tell you something about Rishi Kashyap of Kashmir, after whom Kashmir is named. When he struck a rock and it brought forth water, he thought, 'What a good opportunity to have a bath.' He removed his clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the water. When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished. A Pakistani had stolen them.' The Pakistani representative jumped up furiously and shouted, 'What are you talking about? The Pakistanis weren't there then.' The Indian representative smiled and said, 'And now that we have made that clear, I will begin my speech. 'And they say Kashmir belongs to them" This is one mail I like to be shared with 'ALL INDIANS' including the world at large. JAI HIND !!

Thought of the day
The worldly-minded individual's love is tainted since it is directed towards material objects. Whereas, the same love, when it is directed towards the Lord, leads him to God Himself. Truly, devotion to God is the real technique for attaining liberation and it is a Sadhana (spiritual exercise) par excellence. Devotion will contribute to the growth of wisdom. Devotion and hatred cannot co-exist. When a person is filled with devotion, ignorance will vanish, step-by-step. Love directed towards God is most beneficial and will produce the highest good for all. Cultivate devotion.

The donkey
A village potter used to make pots and planters. He would go to a near by town to sell his wares. He had a donkey on whose back he would load the pots etc. Diwali was fast approaching, so the potter decided to make some statues of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi, to sell in town. He made some beautiful statues and painted them in bright colours. He then loaded them on to the back of his donkey and set off towards the city. On the way, he crossed many people. They would invariably fold their hands and bow to the statues of Ganesha and Lakshmi. By the time they reached the city, many people had bowed their heads before the deities. They reached the exhibition ground where the artisans could exhibit their things. Soon the potter was able to sell his statues for a good sum. He was pleased indeed! The potter took his donkey by the muzzle and set off on the road leading back to the village. Every time they would cross anyone, the donkey would stop and preen himself prettily as if he were a model. But what was the matter! No one seemed to as much as glance at him! Why were people not bowing their heads before him anymore? Desperate to catch their attention, the donkey started to bray louder & louder... He-haw, he-haw...... He went on. The passers-by started pelting stones at him in annoyance. The potter was bewildered too. The poor donkey had thought that everyone was bowing to him, little realizing that their reverence was directed to the idols of God tied to his back and not to him! Many of us make this mistake. A person occupying a seat of power, often finds people saluting him. If he thinks that the salutations are in his honour, he is living in a fool's paradise, like the donkey in the story! The respect is given to the chair and not to the person occupying it. As soon as he steps down from the position, the people around him vanish. Frogs croak only when it rains, as soon as the rain stops, they vanish.

A Nice Lesson..!
Once a boy went to a shop with his mother. The shop keeper looked at the small cute child and showed him a bottle with sweets And said 'Dear Child..u can take the sweets... But the child didn't take. The shop keeper was surprised.. Such a small child he is and why is he not taking the sweets from the bottle. Again he said take the sweets.... Now the mother also heard that and said.. Take the sweets dear.. Yet he didn't take... The shopkeeper seeing the child not taking the sweets... He himself took the sweets and gave to the child. The child was happy to get two hands full of sweets. While returning home the Mother asked the child... Why didn't you take the sweets, when the shop keeper told you to take?.. Can you guess the response: Child replies... Mom! My hands are very small and if I take the sweets I can only take few.. But now you see when uncle gave with his big hands.... How many more sweets I got! Moral: When we take we may get little but when God gives... HE gives us more beyond our expectations. .. More than what we can hold..!!
