The donkey A village potter used to make pots and planters. He would go to a near by town to sell his wares. He had a donkey on whose back he would load the pots etc. Diwali was fast approaching, so the potter decided to make some statues of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi, to sell in town. He made some beautiful statues and painted them in bright colours. He then loaded them on to the back of his donkey and set off towards the city. On the way, he crossed many people. They would invariably fold their hands and bow to the statues of Ganesha and Lakshmi. By the time they reached the city, many people had bowed their heads before the deities. They reached the exhibition ground where the artisans could exhibit their things. Soon the potter was able to sell his statues for a good sum. He was pleased indeed! The potter took his donkey by the muzzle and set off on the road leading back to the village. Every time they would cross anyone, the donkey would stop and preen himself prettily as if he were a model. But what was the matter! No one seemed to as much as glance at him! Why were people not bowing their heads before him anymore? Desperate to catch their attention, the donkey started to bray louder & louder... He-haw, he-haw...... He went on. The passers-by started pelting stones at him in annoyance. The potter was bewildered too. The poor donkey had thought that everyone was bowing to him, little realizing that their reverence was directed to the idols of God tied to his back and not to him! Many of us make this mistake. A person occupying a seat of power, often finds people saluting him. If he thinks that the salutations are in his honour, he is living in a fool's paradise, like the donkey in the story! The respect is given to the chair and not to the person occupying it. As soon as he steps down from the position, the people around him vanish. Frogs croak only when it rains, as soon as the rain stops, they vanish.

Hope those donkeys who hold public and government offices soon realize the adoration they recieve is for the office they hold and not themselves. Ministers and Officers are servants of the public.

Where there is peace there is patience.

Projection:
My usual reactions to the stimuli around me are programmed, so I
tend to be impulsive or react quickly to situations, I don't give
myself time to think or understand. Because of this lack of
patience I lose out on many things and I don't realise that I am
losing out too.

Solution:
At all times I need to make a conscious effort to keep my mind
peaceful and calm, more so when there is a difficult situation.
With this state of mind I am able to deal with situations patiently
because peace brings power which in turn brings patience.

Lord Krishna clearly describes in Bhagavad Gita as to what and whom He likes the best.
"Yo na hrsyati na dvesti,Na socati na kankshati,Subhasubha parityagi,Bhaktiman yah sa me priyah. "(Gitaji 12,17)
Which means,'One who does not rejoice or grieve, does not lament or desire and who renounces both auspicious and inauspicious activities, such a devotee is very dear to Me. 'A devotee does everything and anything, in the name of the Lord, does not get attached to the results. Lord Krishna's desire for us is to follow the teachings of Bhagavad Gita. Devotional service in the form of chanting the Holy Names is clearly the way in this Kali Yuga.

Message for the day

The one who recognises the needs of others is the one who gives
real happiness.

Projection:
I usually make a lot of effort to give in some way or the other to
those around me. Yet I sometimes find that people are not able to
be happy with me. What I give is usually based on what I feel the
other person needs. I continue to give in this way and begin to
expect from others too, and find myself disappointed when I am not
appreciated.

Solution:
I need to be a giver in the true sense. Before I think of giving, I
need to recognise the needs of others. The more I keep myself tuned
to this I will enjoy what I am giving and the impact of it will be
there on the others too. I will then find that others are pleased
with me too.

Why Tuesday is considered inauspicious by some Hindu communities?

Tuesday, which is known as Mangalwar or Chowai or Chovazhcha, is considered inauspicious by some Hindu communities, especially in South India (Kerala). No journey is commenced on Tuesday as it is bad. Auspicious ceremonies are also avoided on the day. Some scholars indicate that that it is suggested in the Brihat Samhita of Varahamihira that Tuesday should be avoided for auspicious functions.


Mangalwar or Tuesday is ruled by Mars or Mangal. Mars is also known by the name of Angarak, Kujan, Agneya and this all indicates that the planet is red and is associated with heat. He is also believed to kick start fights and is also considered to be responsible for cuts and bruises on the body. He is also believed to create unwanted competitions among people.


Tuesday begins at the highest influence point of Mars and therefore he is believed to have control throughout the day.


These are some of the reasons why Tuesday is held inauspicious.


But it must also be remembered that Tuesday is considered the most auspicious day to worship Lord Hanuman – Sankat Mochan. Tuesday is also highly auspicious to worship Lord Ganesha.

To be free from waste questions is to save time.

Projection:
When difficult situations come my way I usually have a lot of
questions in my mind about it. I continue to ask myself why the
situation has come and have no answers. These questions usually
bring me no solution for the problems at hand but I continue to
have waste thoughts.

Solution:
I need to understand the importance of the time that is in my
hands. When I recognize the value of my time I will not waste time
in unnecessary thoughts but will try to find a solution for the
problem. If there is no solution for the problem I at least just
stop thinking unnecessarily and just accept it.

Problem is just the distance between reality and expctations so either expect less and accept reality or expect a lot and turn that in to reality Good morning have a nice day God bless u all
