Thought of the day
If you wish to lead an ideal life, you have to follow the example of the Avatars (Divine incarnations) . Avatars may appear in human form, but you should not equate them with ordinary mortals. In physical form, both may appear alike. But there is a fundamental difference. You should not mistake the cotton fruit for the mango. When man strays away from the path of righteousness, God comes in human form to reform him. Birds, beasts and insects lead lives according to their specific nature. It is only man who has given up all righteousness, forgotten his divine essence and degraded his humanness. The Avatar has to protect the good, reform the erring and punish the wicked.

Negativity cannot remain without a support.
Positivity, happiness can be without any reason. The mind goes on trying to find support for its negativity. It looks for a hook to hang its negativity on - if not this person, then that thing or that person and so on. This perpetuates the maya! The creeper of negativity needs a support in order to grow. But negativity or aversion for even one person can guarantee a one-way ticket to hell - you need nothing else! All negativity is a pointer to move to the centre and broaden the vision to the cosmic intelligence. Instead of focusing your attention on support for your negativity, look at the seed of negativity. With meditation, silence, kriya, the source of negativity is nipped at the root.

My contribution...
The nest of young eagles hung on every word as the Master Eagle described his exploits. This was an important day for the eaglets. They were preparing for their first solo flight from the nest. It was the confidence builder many of them needed to fulfill their destiny. "How far can I travel?" asked one of the eaglets. "How far can you see?" responded the Master Eagle. "How high can I fly?" quizzed the young eaglet. "How far can you stretch your wings?" asked the old eagle. "How long can I fly?" the eaglet persisted. "How far is the horizon?" the mentor rebounded. "How much should I dream?" asked the eaglet. "How much can you dream?" smiled the older, wiser eagle. "How much can I achieve?" the young eagle continued. "How much can you believe?" the old eagle challenged. Frustrated by the banter, the young eagle demanded, "Why don't you answer my questions?" "I did." "Yes. But you answered them with questions." "I answered them the best I could." "But you're the Master Eagle. You're supposed to know everything. If you can't answer these questions, who can?" "You." The old wise eagle reassured. "Me? How?" the young eagle was confused. "No one can tell you how high to fly or how much to dream. It's different for each eagle. Only God and you know how far you'll go. No one on this earth knows your potential or what's in your heart. You alone will answer that. The only thing that limits you is the edge of your imagination." The young eagle puzzled by this asked, "What should I do?" "Look to the horizon, spread your wings, and fly." Copyright 2001, Tom Reilly |

Thought of the Day
Relation with God means only God is ours. It is an eternal relation, filled with true devotion, freedom, rendering of proper service to all, acceptance of all situations and worshipful reverence to God. The more that a man believes in his relationship with the world, the people and the things in this world, that much he becomes subservient and dependent on them. If man were to acknowledge his relation with only God, then he would become independent and free for ever. If an aspirant considering himself to be only God's renders service to the world, then the work done will be rendering proper service both to the world and God. But if he considers himself as belonging to this world and does work, then he will not be properly serving the world, and the work done will definitely not be God's work (worship, pujaa). God is ours, but not for ourselves, but we are for God. The meaning is that we do not desire anything from God, rather we want to offer ourselves to Him. And even the worst of situations and circumstance that come our way, we must understand these as being ordained by Bhagwaan (God), thus remain ever happy. A husband may die, he can leave his wife, inspite of knowing all these things a new bride does not worry while going to her new home (after marriage). But God neither dies, nor does he ever leave us, then what is the worry in having a relationship with God? God is the only one who knows how to hold, but never to let go. Even though nothing is impossible for God, it is not possible for God to move away from us. Besides God no one else is ours - this is true devotion. Only God is ours, whereas the things acquired are all God's. Things have been given to us to utilize for a good purpose. But for ourselves, only God is ours. Therefore put things to good use for the world, whereas engage your Self in only God. A devotee must look not at his qualifications, rather must only look at the feeling of mineness with God. "I belong to God and God is mine" - There is no other quality, ability compared to this.

Thought of the day
When a man's inner self is filled with love, his life becomes full of bliss and he is always hale and hearty. Today, man suffers from numerous ailments the root cause of which is a diseased mind. There is no death for the mind, though when the body is facing death the mind thinks it is dying. The mind, it has been said, is the cause of one's bondage or liberation. Bad thoughts beget bondage. Good thoughts lead to liberation. Hence, everyone should develop good thoughts and perform good deeds. Such good feelings can arise only out of love.
