Gartley Patterns
All are invited to post Gartley/Butterfly patterns in this thread .
IMO GARTLEYs in Daily have more than 60% success rate . However, if it fails to pursue the predicted direction , what I observed, it violently goes in the opposite direction (Failure). So if a trader follows the BO strategy one can catch move in either direction. In short after Formation of Gartley there is enough energy embeded in the price to BO in either direction. Talking of energy will it be wise to buy a Strangle at the BO . seems nice idea , requires testing. Good Luck

Yes, Complete your first post for some reference/material about gartley pattern. It involve some tough ratio's ( i dont remeber right now) which might be difficult to employ without example diagram. WW and Gartley are sister concerns

 ACC had a succession of Bearish Gartleys in an Ascending wedge . Right now we are staring at possible correction from here. As per the chart, at the completion of each pattern , price did give correction albeit not very convincingly. However presently the pattern has power of TWO to be successful , lets hope it delivers. 1) Gartley. 2) Rising Wedge. Needless to say the examples are rampant with failures. However one thing remains outstanding , that , move after these patterns in favour or against are volatile . Is'nt that what some skilled traders yearn for, atleast option traders , who can exploit this characteristic very favourably to their advantage. Last edited by shiree; 07-04-2009 at 10:01 PM.

I am using a standard Amibroker AFL for charting Gartleys. Anybody interested just let me know. On the other hand anybody has better resource for charting Gartleys please share.
