Default Squeeze Play

BORIS SCHLOSBERG'S Bollinger Band System looks simple and Effective.

Chart setup---
1) Hourly Charts.
2) Price Overlay with Double BollingerBand 20-2.5 Outer 20-1.0 inner.

To look for --

1) Price consolidating for two days horizontally inside Bollinger bands ( ofcourse naturally).
2) Wait for first long candle piercing the Outer BB.
3) Trade in the direction of the BO.

Entry -- discretionary on indvidual choice . May be price retraces 50% of the BO candle .
that may be a good entry.

Todays Pick MCDOWELL . trying to load chart but sometimes its hard to do.

The original squeeze play indicator was coded by a Tradestation user back in 2004, then came the vendor revolution with people selling the same repackaged indicator under various disguises.

Trading divergences off the indicator doesnt look like the best use of the concept though, its more suited to option plays for veterans.

There isn't a survey like what percent of TA/trading education stuff on internet is commercial hype.... but guess it comes close to 90%

or am I missing something?

Don't be so naive Saurabh, 90% is too low a number

Yes its like cooking the dish for two days on slow heat (french Cusine) and then using it for Intra or swing.

For example today after observing Mcdowell make two day squeeze --- In 15 mts (I am sorry to break the rule of hourly , which I break all the time)
bought 100 shares of Mcdowell @668 (Price crossing Outer BB @666).
25 shares covered @ 676.
Another 25 Covered @ 684.
Still holding 50.
One Indicator that could help probably to decide the direction of BO may be gradual HH HL inside consolidation for Bullish move , opposite for Bearish.

One Indicator , I m certain that helps is , if during the entire consolidation, we have higher number of longest Candles are green, bulls are taking position (accumulation) . If the longest candles are solid bodied (Marubozus), all the better.

Boris uses additionally Momentum Indicator to decide BO.
