Where and how exactly is the "for" command used in easy language? I know googling or refering easy language guide is an option but I'll appreciate it if someone can post a practical example...

actually after his request i spotted some basic example and some complex, but as they were so easily available that make me think oxy is joking.

I'm not joking devdas. I do my coding in a very simple way. I only learn a new command if I'm not able to solve using what I already know. I've never used "for" or "arrays" before Never could figure out why and how they are helpful? I'd be grateful if you can shed light on this!

sorry oxy,
i got ur meaning....i think u want a situation that can only be solved by 'For' loop....perhaps tough to find cause almost every thing 'For' can make is equally substituted by 'Do-while' or simply 'While'. It turns out a matter of choice/conv. But ill try to find 'For' specific example...give us some time to catch EL.

'For' Defines a group of instructions executed a predefined number of times, i couldnt find the example but yes as you said its most used in array and loop statement, i think statement initiated at first along with position sizing, but i am still confuse why to use position sizing in the code itself, only logic would be automation, i am very noob in this so pardon for mistakes

Yes practically we dont use For loops much, because instead we use a function for that purpose which uses For loop.
For example you might have used Average fuction.Actually it uses For loop to calculate it,but since most of the stuff we use is readily available in easy use functions we dont feel much need of using loops.But For loops might be useful to those people who create their own functions.

For example

say if you need to calculate the sum of last 5 bars close what do you do?

Yes its easy...........you will simply put c[1]+c[2]+c[3]+c[4]+c[5]

sounds easy.........

but what if say you need to calculate the sum of close of last 100 bars?

Its not practial to put c[1]+...............c[100]

Actually there is a function for that "summation" but if you did not have that we have to do using For loops.

{Here is a way to do it using For loops}
//-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
vars: sumofclose(0);

for value1=1 to 100

begin

sumofclose=sumofclose+close[value1];

end;

print(sumofclose);
//----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
